1 000 Teens Pledge Against Rape and Abuse of Teen Girls and Women

On Saturday 16th July at Cavendish Square, a CODE TEEN initiative exceeded a record of uniting 1,000 teen girls for 67 minutes against rape and abuse of women, in line with Mandela Day. It is a known fact that in South Africa, every 25 seconds a girl is raped or abused. To pledge their commitment to the cause, each girl signed Pledge Wall.

Dressed like Princesses, 1,000 girls joined in on the MANDELA DAY PRINCESS PARTY to show their support for every SA Teen Girl who has been raped and abused and to be the Princesses they are.

“The Pledge Wall have brought together teenagers from ALL walks of life – just showing that this is a cause that is close to everyone. It’s not just about signing the wall and having fun, it’s also about showing support for girls that have experienced rape and abuse and making sure these girls know where to turn and where to find support” – AMANDA STRYDOM, AVA SECRETS

“We are here today to support every fellow SA Teen Girl to all become the Princesses they were born to be”– TEENAGER
