In December 2016, Billie Lourd was hit with back-to-back news of her mother, Carrie Fisher and grandmother, Debbie Reynolds’ deaths. In an interview with Ellen, Billie discusses how she is dealing with the loss of her ‘goddesses’:
“It’s completely surreal. I mean, there’s no way to really explain it. It’s so hard to talk about. It’s like, if I say I’m doing good then I’m too happy, and if I say that I’m not doing good then I’m a mess. And it’s really hard to know what to say about it because it is just so surreal and impossible to deal with.”
Billie said that after she had the best time appearing in a bit role next to her mom in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It was after her appearance that her mother was convinced that if she felt comfortable on such a large set then she was meant for the business. Soon after, she met with Ryan Murphy, landed her role as Chanel #3 in Scream Queens.
