Mosquitoes are probably one of the worst things in summer. Their bites are red, puffy and very itchy! Mosquitoes don’t just find their ‘victims’ by sight alone, but also by our smell and our body heat!
Some of the best ways to get rid of mosquitoes is:
– Avoiding perfumes and other scented items such as soaps and creams, in the summer months! Not only does the scent attract mosquitoes but other insects and unwanted bugs too!
-Wear light colours in the day times as mosquitoes are attracted to darker colours. Some studies have shown that mosquitoes prefer blue and green, so try pink, yellow or orange.
-If you’re going out at night wear long sleeves and pants.
-Mosquitoes don’t like the smell of onions.
-Try insect repellent, it should work!
-Or try the classic mosquito net; just make sure there are no mosquitoes inside when you close it!
To keep mosquitoes out of your house try:
-Certain flowers and herbs to keep mosquitoes away; marigolds, rosemary, peppermint, spearmint, daisies, garlic, allspice, cedar, and lemon grass naturally repels insects.
-Mosquitoes love still water, so if you have tyres with water in or have bird baths and so on… Mosquitoes may be breeding in them.
– If you have a fan, put it on! Mosquitoes prefer still air!
Hope this helps to keep these pests away!
