English League Soccer fans get ready

For those of you who love English Premier football, but always have to watch your ‘boys’ on the screen courtesy of SuperSport, you better take note.

Cape Town representative and member of the mayoral committee of tourism, events and marketing, Grant Pascoe has just returned from a trip to the UK. Grant has been negotiating with teams like Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City to come and play at the Cape Town Stadium.

This has come about after more than 50 000 fans came to the stadium to watch Manchester United take on Ajax Cape Town, bringing in R76 million to the local economy.

The teams have shown great interest and have put forward requests to play in the Mother City already. If all goes well, you may see the teams here in sunny SA as early as July!
