A ‘Freaky Friday’ musical is coming out on Disney Channel

Freaky Friday

Disney may not be making a Freaky Friday sequel but they will be making another movie based on the 2003 classic. Following the success of a Freaky Friday stage musical, the Disney Channel is turning the story into a movie musical, Entertainment Weekly reports.

Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis won’t be back, but Heidi Blickenstaff, who played the mother Katherine in the La Jolla Playhouse version, will be starring, along with Cozi Zuehlsdorff as her teenage daughter Ellie.

This will be Disney’s fourth movie to tell this story. The first version, made in 1976, starred Jodie Foster and Barbara Harris. Then, before the 2003 version we know and love, there was a 1995 Disney TV movie.
