Aptitude is defined an innate, learned or acquired ability of an individual to perform specific tasks. In other word, an aptitude test shows you what you where your strengths lie in relation to what your interests are. Aptitude tests incorporate many different factors such as numerical reasoning, verbal reasoning, abstract reasoning, verbal reasoning, speed and accuracy etc. It all sounds very scientific but this is why they have professionals who conduct aptitude tests.

Aptitude tests normally consist of a series of multiple choice questions and are often administered under exam-like conditions. The tests are also strictly timed; each section will have its own time period. An aptitude test is one of the most commonly used assessments used to measure a candidate’s suitability for a role. Your results are processed and career options are furthermore calculated according to your results.

Most schools offer an aptitude test in Grade 9 because this is the year that you need to decide what subjects you are going to take until matric.
