Kesha‘s new album Rainbow features seven spaceships on the cover. Why? Because her new album was partially influenced by a UFO sighting. Kesha recounted the far-out experience in a new interview on the Zach Sang Show.

She didn’t actually see a UFO but she does explain that she saw “little balls of fire in the sky.” Immediately you might think she was high or drunk when this occurred but she emphasized that she was actually stone cold sober when it happened. She swears that there were about five to seven spaceships. Fans might recall an Instagram post in May that hinted at this happening: “ufos are real. i have seen them. not playing,” she wrote at the time.

Kesha also discussed her new single Praying, an emotional ballad that is unlike anything she has produced before. She described the track as encompassing where she is now at 30 years old. Check it out below to get a taste of the new Kesha. The track is perhaps the gold at the end of the Rainbow

The music video is another topic of discussion, however. The video is filled with frills and lights and symbolism that accompanies basically every music video of Kesha’s. Her symbolism has often been linked to the Illuminati. That’s how it starts off though. It changes slightly as the music video progresses, showing a vulnerable and softer side to Kesha. Lyrically, Kesha wishes her enemy (three guesses who – Dr. Luke, we meant Dr. Luke) peace and hopes that they may find their way through prayer.

Praying

Well, you almost had me fooled
Told me that I was nothing without you
Oh, and after everything you’ve done
I can thank you for how strong I have become’Cause you brought the flames and you put me through hell
I had to learn how to fight for myself
And we both know all the truth I could tell
I’ll just say this is I wish you farewellI hope you’re somewhere praying, praying
I hope your soul is changing, changing
I hope you find your peace
Falling on your knees, praying

I’m proud of who I am
No more monsters, I can breathe again
And you said that I was done
Well, you were wrong and now the best is yet to come

‘Cause I can make it on my own
And I don’t need you, I found a strength I’ve never known
I’ve been thrown out, I’ve been burned
When I’m finished, they won’t even know your name

You brought the flames and you put me through hell
I had to learn how to fight for myself
And we both know all the truth I could tell
I’ll just say this is I wish you farewell

I hope you’re somewhere praying, praying
I hope your soul is changing, changing
I hope you find your peace
Falling on your knees, praying

Oh, sometimes, I pray for you at night
Oh, someday, maybe you’ll see the light
Oh, some say, in life you gonna get what you give
But some things, only God can forgive

I hope you’re somewhere praying, praying
I hope your soul is changing, changing
I hope you find your peace
Falling on your knees, praying
