On Monday, 24 July Justin Bieber made headlines because of his decision to cancel the remaining leg of his tour. He didn’t give any other explanation other than that he requested some much needed rest. John Mayer has now come forward to defend the star.
Mayer took to Twitter to applaud Justin for making his health a priority.:
“When someone pulls remaining dates of a tour, it means they would have done real damage to themselves if they kept going. We’ve lost so many great artists lately. I give Justin for realizing it was time to call it. You should too.”
Justin’s tour started in March 2016 and has grossed $163.3 million, according to Pollstar. All tickets will, however, be refunded. A statement was released on Justin’s Facebook page revealing:
“Justin loves his fans and hates to disappoint them. He thanks his fans for the incredible experience of the Purpose World Tour over [the] last 18 months.”
