Oscars 2017

Jimmy Kimmel hosted the 2017 Oscar awards that took place yesterday evening. He hosted the event for the first time in his career and absolutely nailed it! Although, the night didn’t run as smoothly as planned…In a cruel twist of fate La La Land was announced the incorrectly as the winner of the Best Picture. Moonlight, in fact, took home the Oscar for Best Picture. The cast and crew of La La Land took to the stage but were interrupted by presenter Warren Beatty who announced that he had been handed the wrong envelope. Kimmel attempted to lighten the mood leaving most of Hollywood feeling extremely uncomfortable, especially Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling. This mistake has been likened to the ‘Steve Harvey’ moment.

Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling’s La La Land held the lead with 14 nominations and Amy Adam’s Arrival tied in second place with Mahershala Ali’s Moonlight, both earning eight nominations. Lion and Manchester By the Sea both held strong in third with six Oscar nominations each. But here is the full list of who actually went home with Oscars on one of Hollywood’s biggest night’s:
