Lady Gaga and Joe Biden team up to help sexual assault victims

Former Vice President of the United States and Lady Gaga are teaming up to help sexual assault victims. The two are trying to open long-term trauma centers for sexual assault survivors. Biden announced the initiative during Glamour’s Woman of the Year awards on November 13. The centers will focus on the long-lasting impact sexual assault can have on victims:

“Women who are abused end up having long-term physical and physiological problems,” Biden said, according to Billboard. “I’m working with Lady Gaga now… we [want to] set up trauma centers where women can go to get the long-term help they need to deal with these crises… We finally are recognizing the long-term impacts on the health of women and men who’ve been abused. It’s the next great frontier I want to be part of.”
