Q: There is this guy I like. We are pretty close and we talk as often as we can. He lives far away and he knows I like him, but he says he doesn’t like long-distance relationships and I understand and respect that. Until now. He is in a new relationship with a girl and that girl lives far away. So what does that mean? He told me he doesn’t like long-distance relationships and now he is with her? So it is that he lied to me or what? I am pretty upset with him and don’t know if I should tell him or just leave it.
A: It’s going to hurt to hear this, but you are just going to have to accept that he unfortunately wasn’t that into you. And you are absolutely right that he lied – he used long-distance as an excuse for not dating you, when he should in reality have just told you that he didn’t see you in that way. I think you should let him know how he made you feel, and then move on. There is someone much, much better for you out there and you may just need to meet someone closer to home that you can spend more time with. Deal with the situation, so that you can get closure, and then move on – you deserve more!
